Greetings from Waihao Marae, a Maori community center. This morning we were fortunate enough to sleep in! We made our own breakfast in the hostel, including avocado toast, cereal, and pancakes. We packed up all of our skiing gear and said goodbye to our cozy hostel. We got in our bus and took a long, scenic ride to the Waihao Marae!!! We just arrived and heard some songs from the Maori, then performed one of our own representing our culture, enjoyed some snacks, and set up our beds for tonight. Yesterday, our last day in Wanaka, we visited the famous Puzzling World. Some of us were fortunate enough to complete their large, outdoor maze while others played with the various puzzles, admired the art, and played around in the 15-degree tilted room. After all the puzzles, we went back to the hostel and enjoyed some cake to celebrate Chloe’s 17th birthday. Then we left for a unique movie theater nearby. We watched Ocean’s 8. Halfway though the movie, during intermission, we all sat together in the lobby and ate lots of pizza. We finished the movie while indulging in the popcorn and cookies we had bought. After taking the bus home we got into bed looking forward to the journey that we would have today!
